Sudanese community in Kuwait organizes Health Day

. . . as part of independence celebrations

As part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Sudan, the Sudanese community inaugurated an Open Health Day on Friday morning, December 26, 2025, at the Sudanese Embassy premises.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Awad Al-Karim Al-Reeh, Ambassador of Sudan to Kuwait, and was held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan; with joint coordination between the Executive Office of the Sudanese Community and the Supreme Committee for the independence celebrations.

The initiative witnessed active participation from Sudanese medical and nursing bodies within a national framework that embodied the values of independence, solidarity, and community service.

In his address, Ambassador Al-Reeh congratulated the Sudanese people on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of independence, wishing Sudan continued security and stability.

He praised the Health Day initiative and the efforts of Sudanese medical cadres in Kuwait, affirming the Embassy’s support for community-based service initiatives. He stressed that Sudanese professionals, particularly in the medical and nursing fields, represent a bright and honorable image of the Sudanese community abroad.

Abdelmonem Hallaj, Deputy Chairman of the Sudanese Community, conveyed the greetings of the Community Council and expressed appreciation to the Embassy and participating medical and nursing staff for their organizational role.

He noted that the independence celebrations will continue, with a cultural program scheduled for Thursday, January 1, at Al-Qadsiya Club Hall in Hawalli.

Dr. Osama Al-Hardallo, Patron of the Medical Bodies, thanked the Embassy and the Community Council for supporting the initiative, affirming the readiness of medical professionals to contribute to all activities serving community members.

Dr. Al-Shafie, Head of the Nursing Body, confirmed their commitment to providing healthcare support and extended congratulations to the Sudanese people on this national occasion.

The Health Day featured a wide range of specialized medical services, provided by doctors, nurses, technicians, and pharmacists.

These included clinics for general practice, internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedics, cardiology, family medicine, psychiatry, as well as a nursing observation room, pharmacy services, and laboratory testing.

The event saw a strong turnout from members of the Sudanese community, who expressed satisfaction with the organization and quality of healthcare services. Participants praised the warm reception and called for the continuation of similar health and social initiatives in the future.

Following the event, the Supreme Committee for the independence celebrations held an evaluation meeting chaired by Dr. Ali Al-Sanousi, Chairman of the Sudanese Community Council.

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the Health Day and discussed final preparations for the upcoming cultural program.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a comprehensive national celebration program that reflects the spirit of independence, strengthens unity and national belonging, and honors Sudan’s history and the sacrifices of its people at home and abroad.
