India and Jordan signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Monday to deepen bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including renewable energy, water resources, digital transformation, and cultural heritage.
This move comes as Amman signals its intent to join major Indian-led global initiatives, such as the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The agreements were finalized during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day official visit to the kingdom.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the India-Jordan Business Forum today, marking a series of high-level engagements aimed at deepening bilateral relations, MEA Secretary (South) Dr. Neena Malhotra said.

Speaking at a special briefing, Dr. Malhotra noted that PM Modi, alongside King Abdullah II, jointly addressed the Forum, which was attended by leading business figures from both countries. High-level delegations discussed cooperation in traditional sectors such as fertilizers and textiles, as well as emerging areas including renewable energy, IT, and the health sector.

In a post on X, he noted that cooperation in renewable energy demonstrated a shared commitment to clean growth, energy security, and climate responsibility, advancing sustainable development while addressing global climate challenges.
