IES Kuwait hosts 11th Bhavans Model United Nations; empowers the leaders of tomorrow

The Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait, hosted the 11th Session of the Bhavans Model United Nations (BMUN) on November 4 and 5, 2025, marking yet another milestone in its tradition of fostering youth diplomacy and leadership.

The two-day conference brought together over 150 delegates from nine leading schools across Kuwait, providing a vibrant platform for students to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing global challenges through the lens of diplomacy, debate, and dialogue.
Participants took part in five major committees — the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and World Health Organization (WHO).

Through spirited debates and well-researched resolutions, delegates demonstrated impressive analytical and negotiation skills, mirroring the professionalism and depth of real-world diplomacy.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of IES Senior Vice-Principals Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Santhosh Chungath, Headmistress Ms. Muneera Mamikutty, and SIS Vice-Principal Ms. Bhavitha Bright.


In her opening address, Ms. Nayyar highlighted the significance of youth leadership in navigating a fast-evolving global landscape.
The seamless coordination of the event by Ms. Hajira Banu and Ms. Chanchal ensured an enriching and well-organized experience for all participants.
The closing ceremony on November 5 recognized exceptional achievements with awards for Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, High Recommendation, and Best Position Paper.
The Best Delegation Award went to the Indian Community School, Khaitan (ICSK Khaitan) for their exceptional teamwork and diplomacy.
The IES students also excelled, earning multiple individual honors including Mohammed Omar Ali (Best Position Paper – UNSC), Kevin Jinu (High Recommendation – DISEC), Pranav Sheetal (High Recommendation – WHO), Vagmee Shevade (Best Position Paper – WHO), and Abhijith Kartha (Best Position Paper – UNODC).
