MEW gets SAB nod for annual maintenance of RO equipment of desalination project

The State Audit Bureau has approved the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy contract for annual maintenance of equipment at the seawater reverse osmosis (RO) desalination project in the Shuwaikh Power and Water Distillation Plant, for a total value of 7.396 million dinars.

According to the ministry sources, the tender is intended to boost the plant’s efficiency, improve operational capacity, and extend its lifespan.

The Shuwaikh facility remains one of the country’s key sources of fresh water for both citizens and residents, reports Al-Jarida daily,

In a separate development, the Administrative Development and Training Department, under the Ministry’s Planning Sector, concludes today its specialized training program titled, “Integrated Leadership,” which began last Sunday.

The program brought together a group of senior officers and supervisory staff as part of the ministry’s annual plan to qualify administrative leaders and strengthen their efficiency in line with evolving government work requirements.

The sources explained that the program integrates concepts of leadership intelligence and strategic excellence with modern management tools, to enhance decision-making, improve team management, and foster a motivating work environment.

Ultimately, it seeks to elevate institutional performance and support the Ministry’s broader efforts in administrative development and innovation.

The training covered key themes such as:

Smart Leadership –– shifting from traditional approaches to leadership based on emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence.

Strategic Excellence — applying strategic thinking and advanced decision-making tools.

Motivation and Empowerment — developing mechanisms to lead high-performance teams and create an engaging work environment.
