Kuwait launches first govt tourism training program in cooperation with Google

The Ministry of Information, in coordination with the Ministry of State for Communications and Information Technology, has launched Kuwait’s first specialized training program on government tourism strategies and policies in partnership with Google.
The initiative, according to Al-Rai daily, comes under the directives of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and aims to develop the country’s tourism sector while enhancing national competencies.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the ministry explained that the program targets employees and supervisors in its Tourism Department and covers core topics such as the fundamentals of the tourism industry, the use of artificial intelligence in sector development, and mechanisms for shaping a national tourism strategy.
These efforts are expected to support sustainable tourism growth and strengthen Kuwait’s ability to adopt modern policies.
The ministry confirmed that this program is the first in a series of upcoming training initiatives designed to include all tourism sector workers—across government and private institutions—as well as those interested in tourism.
The goal is to raise workforce efficiency, advance skills in digital marketing, improve customer experiences, and promote sustainable practices.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, emphasized that the program is part of the ministry’s broader strategy to enhance media and tourism infrastructure, develop human resources, and accelerate digital transformation, making tourism a vital contributor to Kuwait’s national economy.
He added that the collaboration with Google reflects Kuwait’s commitment to aligning with global trends in digital and sustainable tourism, reinforcing the country’s standing as a leading destination in the region.
