United Volleyball Club hosts thrilling tournament for India’s 78th Independence Day

The event, organized by a section of IMA Senior Members, brings together community members in a joyful and competitive environment.

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait has consistently promoted cultural and sporting activities across all its levels, from the Children’s Circle and Youth Wing to its senior members.

IMA Kuwait focuses on providing a platform for the spiritual, social, and cultural enhancement of expatriates living in Kuwait through various programs and social gatherings.

 

Sports play a crucial role in shaping and developing an individual’s personality, both personally and socially. They foster teamwork, leadership, and various skills. Recognizing this, the Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait has consistently promoted cultural and sporting activities across all its levels, from the Children’s Circle and Youth Wing to its senior members.

In a vibrant celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day, the United Volleyball Club, part of IMA Senior Members, organized a thrilling volleyball tournament on August 9 and 16 at Salmiya Garden. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 14 teams.

The tournament was a grand success, fostering unity and sportsmanship among community members. The matches were highly competitive, showcasing remarkable talent and teamwork across all participating teams.

The winner of the tournament was Team Gurkha Khukri, while the IMA Kuwait Team, led by Captain Br. Siraj, finished as the runner-up.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Chief Guest IMA Senior Member Mr. Ahmed Ali Sahab presented the winner’s trophy to the victorious Gurkha Khukri team. Their triumph was a testament to their dedication and skill on the court.

Brother Siraj of the IMA team graciously accepted the runner-up trophy, praising his team for their outstanding performance and determination throughout the tournament.

The Best Setter Award was presented to Mr. Helerio, captain of Team Gurkha Khukri, while the Best Attacker Award went to Mr. Siraj, captain of Team IMA Kuwait / United Volleyball Club.

The event was a fitting tribute to India’s Independence Day, bringing together community members in a joyful and competitive environment. The United Volleyball Club looks forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue promoting sports and camaraderie within the community.

IMA Kuwait, an Indian socio-religious organization, operates under the patronage of the Ministry of Awqafand Islamic Affairs Kuwait. It focuses on providing a platform for the spiritual, social, and cultural enhancement of expatriates living in Kuwait through various programs and social gatherings.
