UK court jails three far-right extremists for plotting attacks on mosques, synagogues

Despite pleading not guilty, the jury convicted all three. Judge Johanna Katz sentenced Stewart — identified as the group’s leader — to 11 years in prison, Ringrose to 10 years, and Pizzetto to eight years.

A British court has sentenced three far-right extremists to lengthy prison terms after convicting them of planning terrorist attacks targeting mosques and synagogues across the United Kingdom.

The Sheffield Crown Court found Brogan Stewart (25), Marco Pizzetto (26), and Christopher Ringrose (35) guilty of preparing acts of terrorism following their arrest in February 2024.

Prosecutors revealed that the three men had gathered information that could be used to plan attacks, while Ringrose was additionally charged with manufacturing a component for a firearm using a 3D printer.

During the trial, prosecutors presented hundreds of messages exchanged between the accused, many of which expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler and racist hatred toward Muslims and immigrants. The group also discussed violent acts, including the murder of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the torture of imams.

Detective Chief Inspector James Dunkerley, head of counter-terrorism policing in North East England, stated: “The three took realistic steps to plan and prepare an attack on innocent civilians. Their intentions were both hateful and dangerous.”

The convictions underscore ongoing concerns about the threat of far-right extremism in the UK and the growing use of digital platforms to coordinate extremist activity.
