4:30 am crackdown, two held at Shuwaikh Police Station over suspected drinking
Two young men have been detained at the Shuwaikh Police Station on suspicion of consuming alcohol.
According to Al-Anba daily, the men were confronted by an early morning patrol and both men appeared abnormal.
According to a security source, officers patrolling the Shuwaikh Industrial Area spotted a vehicle at around 4:30 am with two young men inside.
When questioned about their presence at such an unusual hour, the driver stated they were heading to a well-known restaurant.
The officers reportedly observed clear signs of intoxication and a search of the vehicle uncovered a nearly empty bottle of imported alcohol.
