  • Speaking at a World Food Safety Day event Dr. Reem Al-Faleej warned strict legal action against will be taken any violation of food safety regulations, stressing that consumer health remains the government’s top priority.

Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr. Reem Al-Faleej emphasized that the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition will not hesitate to take the necessary legal action to protect the rights of the state and ensure full compliance with food safety regulations.

She stressed that safeguarding consumer health remains a non-negotiable priority, warning that any violations of the Authority’s rules will be met with strict enforcement measures.

Speaking on the sidelines of a World Food Safety Day event organized by the Authority, Dr. Al-Faleej said regulatory bodies are working continuously to ensure that food products meet approved safety standards before being allowed into the Kuwaiti market.

She noted that these efforts are part of a broader system aimed at protecting public health and maintaining confidence in food supply chains.

However, she also highlighted that official oversight alone is not sufficient. According to her, consumers play a key role in maintaining food safety by making informed choices, purchasing products only from licensed outlets, and selecting foods appropriate for their age and health conditions.

Dr. Al-Faleej further urged the public to carefully read nutritional labels and product information, noting that the Authority provides detailed guidance and updates through its official platforms regarding approved products and distribution rules within Kuwait.

She also encouraged consumers to seek advice and information from the Authority’s staff and awareness centers when needed, reports a local Arabic daily.

She reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to strict regulatory oversight, transparency, and continuous updating of food safety regulations in line with developments in the food industry, stressing that compliance with licensing requirements is essential for all food handlers and establishments operating in the country.
