Tripartite government cooperation to safeguard students from “deviance”

In a pioneering move to protect future generations and improve students’ behavioral stability, informed sources revealed to Al-Rai a tripartite collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Affairs, and Ministry of Interior to monitor and address student behavioral cases of a special nature.
The sources explained to Al-Rai that the cooperation focuses on students involved in various cases, those in care homes, and those facing family issues. The goal is to rehabilitate these students by developing tailored treatment plans that foster their integration into society, ensuring their psychological and social stability.
Importantly, the sources noted that these efforts are part of Kuwait’s commitment to providing a safe and supportive educational environment for all students, aiming to build generations capable of overcoming challenges and achieving success.
The sources explained that the Ministry of Education has contacted the Ministries of Social Affairs and Interior to nominate representatives for a team dedicated to monitoring behavioral cases at risk of deviance, during the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative is part of an integrated strategy to closely assess the conditions of these students and develop suitable solutions for their rehabilitation.
The joint team will be responsible for several key tasks, including identifying students involved in cases and residing in care homes to monitor their progress and create treatment plans. They will also facilitate the transfer of detained students to schools within care homes and ensure their reintegration into their previous schools after their stay. Additionally, the team will coordinate with various parties to assess cases comprehensively and ensure these students receive the necessary treatment and rehabilitation.
According to the sources, the team’s tasks also involve monitoring cases of family or social issues within schools to find suitable solutions that protect students from deviance. They will follow up on family foster children enrolled in public schools and ensure these students are provided with an appropriate educational environment.
