Prime Minister chairs Supreme Defense Council meeting, reviews regional escalation

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah chaired a high-level meeting of the Supreme Defense Council at Bayan Palace at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, amid escalating regional tensions.

The meeting, according to Al-Rai daily, focused on assessing the latest developments in the region and discussing Kuwait’s readiness to respond to various security scenarios.

During the session, the Council was briefed by key ministers and senior officials from relevant government entities on the preparedness measures undertaken by the country’s security, civil, and service agencies to ensure Kuwait’s ability to maintain national stability and respond to any emerging threats.

The Council emphasized the importance of full coordination between all state institutions and directed them to remain on high alert.

It stressed that agencies must guarantee the continued delivery of basic services, maintain the availability of essential supplies, and ensure the uninterrupted functioning of services for both citizens and residents under all circumstances.

The Council affirmed that the highest priority is to safeguard national security, protect public order, and reinforce the internal front in light of the escalating situation in the broader region.

The Council praised the efforts of the national teams working across all sectors and urged continued vigilance and cooperation among all agencies.

The meeting comes as part of Kuwait’s proactive steps to manage the potential repercussions of the heightened geopolitical tension between Iran and Israel and to affirm the country’s commitment to stability and preparedness.
