Kuwait reinforces food security monitoring through new central control system

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, has emphasized the importance of strengthening oversight mechanisms and ensuring the continuous availability of essential goods and food supplies to meet the needs of citizens and residents, particularly in light of current developments in Kuwait and the wider region.
Her remarks came during an inspection visit to the Central Control Center, accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Sayed Issa, where she reviewed the preparedness of cooperative societies across various governorates. She also examined real-time monitoring systems tracking operational performance within these societies, as well as indicators related to the strategic stock levels of food commodities.
Al-Huwailah called for intensified coordination among relevant entities to ensure swift responses to any emerging developments, stressing the importance of closely monitoring the performance of cooperative associations in a way that reflects the state’s readiness and commitment to food security.
She added that the control center represents an advanced step in enhancing performance oversight and improving the efficiency of cooperative work, contributing to stability and the sustained provision of basic needs across the country during a period that requires the highest levels of preparedness and coordination.
