The South African Embassy in Kuwait announced that the South African Department of Tourism will send an official tourism investment delegation to take centre stage at an Investment Tourism Seminar at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s premises on 25 March, 2019 at 10:00 am. The seminar is held in collaboration with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation is made up of representatives of the Department of Tourism, Trade and Investment KwaZulu Natal, Industrial Development Corporation, the Hole in the Wall Development and the North West Tourism Board.
The objective of the seminar is to attract tourism investments to help enhance South Africa’s tourism sector. During the seminar, the department will highlight a number of prioritized projects as well as promote South Africa as a country that is a ready and attractive destination for tourism investment.
The presentation from the Department of Tourism paints a picture of the opportunities available in South Africa within the tourism space, and makes the linkages to other industries quite clear. The IDC is incidentally structured in such a way that tourism is grouped with light manufacturing, where it is understood that the tourism industry; particularly hotels, depend highly on light manufacturing. This includes the manufacturing of furniture, linen, carpets, kitchenware and a number of things that are critical to the hotel industry.
The embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Kuwait and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry cordially invite Kuwaiti relevant stakeholders to attend the seminar to know about the investment opportunities South Africa has to offer.
