MoE links employee biometrics with integrated systems
The acting undersecretary of the general education sector at the Ministry of Education, Mansour Al-Dhafiri, confirmed that biometric (fingerprint) attendance system for 145,123 employees had been linked to the Civil Service Bureau system, to tighten control over attendance during official working hours.
Al-Dhafiri explained that the working hours of employees in the Ministry’s general bureau, central and educational districts start from 7 am to 2 pm, for employees in the kindergarten division from 7:15 am to 12:05 pm, primary school ends at 1:15 pm, intermediate school from 7:30 am to 1:40 pm, and secondary school from 7:45 am to 1:55 pm.
Al-Dhafiri reiterated the importance of adhering to biometric attendance, noting that any discrepancy in attendance has a detrimental impact on multiple departments. Fingerprint clock-in should be mandatory and briefed to all new appointments and those not included in the systems.
