Danish shipping giant Maersk announced Tuesday that one of its ships flying the US flag had left the Strait of Hormuz.
“The Alliance Fairfax, a US-flagged vehicle tanker operated by Farrell Lines, a subsidiary of US-based Maersk Line Limited (MLL), transited the Strait of Hormuz and left the Gulf on May 4,” the company said in a statement to AFP. “The transit went smoothly and all crew members are well.”
The statement added that the ship, which had been stuck in the Gulf since the outbreak of war at the end of February, left with an American military escort.
