Kuwait’s Ambassador to India: 6,500 Visas issued for Kuwaiti tourists in 11 months

According to Kuwait's Ambassador to India, H.E. Mishal Mustafa Al-Shamali; 6,500 multi-purpose entry visas for tourism and treatment were issued to Kuwaitis by November 2024.

Kuwait’s Ambassador to India, H.E. Mishal Mustafa Al-Shamali, praised the strong ties between Kuwait and India, emphasizing that the upcoming period will see increased visits and meetings at all levels between officials of both countries.

Ambassador Al-Shamali revealed in a special statement to Al-Qabas that there has been a remarkable increase in the number of Kuwaitis wishing to visit India. He noted that the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has issued 6,500 multi-purpose entry visas for tourism and treatment from the beginning of the year until the end of November 2024.

Furthermore, Al-Shamali met with Arun Kumar Chatterjee, the Undersecretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for Gulf Affairs, Consular Affairs, Passports, Visas, and Indian Expatriates, wherein the two sides discussed various areas of cooperation and bilateral issues between Kuwait and India.

Recruitment of Workers

Ambassador Al-Shamali highlighted that Kuwaiti-Indian meetings are consistently characterized by a positive atmosphere, with both countries sharing identical views on various issues, topics, and perspectives.

Furthermore, Ambassador Al-Shamali added that Kuwaiti-Indian relations are distinguished in several areas, extending beyond just diplomatic ties to encompass all sectors. These relations are built on a foundation of trust, understanding, and mutual respect.

Regarding the latest developments in the recruitment of domestic workers, Al-Shamali stated that there is nothing new in this file, and the procedures continue routinely according to the established protocols and agreements between the two countries.

Greater Cooperation

Importantly, Ambassador Al-Shamali highlighted the significant growth in economic and investment relations between the Kuwait and India, noting a recent boom in trade exchange, particularly in the manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy, and technology sectors. He also mentioned that the Kuwaiti health sector is actively seeking to attract skilled professionals and medical expertise from India to meet the growing needs of this crucial sector.

Ambassador Al-Shamali concluded by emphasizing that the coming period will see strengthened cooperation in the fields of culture, food, agriculture, and tourism. He also noted that the Kuwait and India will formalize their bilateral cooperation through joint agreements that encompass these areas of collaboration and mutual understanding.
