Kuwait University implements strict ID policy for campus safety

The circular requires visitors to show proof of identity and obtain a visitor card to ensure security and well-being for students and university employees.

Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, Acting Secretary General of Kuwait University, issued a circular mandating the presentation of university IDs for access to university buildings and facilities, according to a report in the Al Qabas newspaper.

The circular, obtained by Al-Qabas, specifies the requirement to present the university ID to the supervisory body and security staff of the Security and Safety Department when entering buildings and colleges in Sabah Al-Salem University City.

It also mandates that visitors must provide proof of identity and obtain a visitor card for use during their time inside the building.

This measure aims to enhance security and safety for students and university employees by restricting access to the campus to only those who present their personal IDs, categorized according to visitor status. It seeks to better regulate entry and exit movements at the university, thereby mitigating potential issues.
