- Eight bottles of imported liquor seized in one case, while a separate operation leads to the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia
The security authorities have arrested and referred two suspects to the Directorate-General for Drug Control in separate incidents in Hawally and Mahboula, involving the sale of imported alcohol and possession of methamphetamine.
In the first case, officers at a security checkpoint in Hawally stopped a nervous looking man and during a search of his vehicle found bottles of booze.
According to a security source, the suspect admitted during preliminary interrogation that he was trafficking in booze over a period of time.
In a separate incident in Mahboula, the Ahmadi police took into custody a Kuwaiti man in his 30s after he allegedly attempted to make an U-turn and flee when he noticed a patrol in the area.
