Kuwait signs air transport agreements with 4 countries to boost civil aviation
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) signed agreements and minutes of meetings on Monday to regulate air transport and develop the civil aviation sector with Canada, Singapore, Botswana and Zimbabwe after bilateral discussions with civil aviation officials in those countries.
H E Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the signing of these agreements came within the participation of the General Administration in the first day of the annual meeting of the International Agreements Conference “ICAN 2024” held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The Sheikh stated that he held a special meeting with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia, H E Rashid Al-Saleh, to discuss the available opportunities and measures to support and facilitate the operation of the two countries’ air carriers.
He explained that the General Administration of Civil Aviation will hold meetings with a number of countries in the coming days with the aim of increasing the frameworks of cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and other participating countries in the field of civil aviation.
The Malaysian Ministry of Transport is hosting the annual “ICAN 2024” meeting, which is organized and supervised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), from 21 to 25 October, with attendance from representatives of civil aviation authorities around the world along with several regional and international organizations who specialize in the field of civil aviation.
This international meeting provides an opportunity for bilateral negotiations and consultations on aviation services and gives policy makers, regulators, aircraft operators, service providers and other stakeholders the opportunity to network with each other.
