First-degree relatives can now obtain death certificates via Sahel

The Ministry of Interior has launched a new service through the “Sahel” app that allows first-degree relatives to issue a Kuwaiti citizenship certificate for deceased family members electronically.
The ministry said the service enables eligible relatives to issue the document electronically without the need to visit service centers, making the process faster and more convenient during sensitive family circumstances.
According to the ministry, the certificate can be issued either as a general document addressed “To Whom It May Concern” or specifically addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, depending on the applicant’s requirements.
Users can also download the certificate directly through the “Sahel” application, as part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to enhance smart government services and streamline official procedures digitally.
