Kuwait set to swelter at 42°C on Thursday amid heatwave, dusty winds
Active southerly winds are forecast, likely to stir up dust and significantly reduce horizontal visibility, especially in open and desert areas.

• Dust levels would gradually settle and weather conditions would begin to improve by Friday morning, with maximum temperatures dropping to between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.
Dharar Al-Ali, the Director of the Meteorology Department, has forecasted that Kuwait will experience a hot air mass on Thursday, causing temperatures to climb to 41-42 degrees Celsius.
According to Arabic daily Al Qabas, active southerly winds are also expected, potentially reducing horizontal visibility due to dust, particularly in open areas. There is also a chance of scattered rain, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms at times.
Al-Ali told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that a semi-cold air front is expected to affect the country by the end of Thursday, with winds shifting to northwesterly and becoming brisk. Visibility is expected to remain low due to dust in some areas during the night, and wave heights may reach up to six feet.
He also predicted that dust levels would gradually settle and weather conditions would begin to improve by Friday morning, with maximum temperatures dropping to between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.
Al-Ali emphasized the importance of following weather updates through the official website, mobile application, and social media accounts to stay informed of the latest developments.
