Kuwait showcases rich cultural heritage at University of Canberra event
Kuwait’s participation in the annual Cultural Day organized by the University of Canberra provided an opportunity to showcase the country’s rich heritage, traditions and diverse cultural identity while strengthening cultural ties among people of different nationalities, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Australia H.E. Malik Al-Wazzan said.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday, Al-Wazzan said the event aims to introduce participants to the cultures of the countries represented at the university and promote cultural exchange among students and visitors from different backgrounds.
He praised the participation of Kuwaiti students studying at the university, noting their role in presenting aspects of Kuwait’s culture and helping build greater understanding between communities. The Kuwaiti pavilion featured a selection of traditional Kuwaiti dishes and sweets, along with souvenirs distributed to visitors. The displays offered guests an opportunity to learn more about Kuwait’s cultural traditions and heritage.
The pavilion also featured videos highlighting Kuwait’s landmarks, combining its longstanding heritage with its modern urban development. The presentation showcased important cultural centers, modern commercial districts and traditional markets, reflecting the diverse elements of Kuwait’s identity and its blend of heritage and contemporary life.
Al-Wazzan said the Kuwaiti pavilion attracted considerable interest from visitors and served as an interactive space for cultural exchange among people of different nationalities. He said the event highlighted the richness and authenticity of Kuwaiti identity while providing an opportunity for visitors to discover different aspects of the country.
Visitors expressed their appreciation for Kuwaiti culture and its diversity, as well as for the positive role played by Kuwaiti students in promoting cultural understanding and communication among peoples.
A number of Kuwaiti students volunteered to manage the national pavilion, including Yousef Al-Anzi, Bandar Al-Anzi, Haya Al-Habaini and Hind Al-Balushi, who took part in the event wearing traditional Kuwaiti national dress.
