India Embassy leads tree-planting drive in Kuwait

The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in association with ARMS4U, organised a tree planting event under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Plant 4 Mother) campaign at Abraj Park, Adailiya Block 4, Kuwait, on 19 September 2026.

The initiative brought together community members and partner organisations with the shared objective of honouring mothers, both our own mothers and Mother Earth,  through the meaningful act of planting trees. The event highlighted the importance of collective efforts to promote environmental protection, sustainable urban spaces and a greener Kuwait.

The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which combines environmental responsibility with a heartfelt tribute to mothers, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 5 June 2024, on the occasion of World Environment Day. Since its launch, the campaign has been taken up across India and in several countries around the world, including Kuwait.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, H.E. Paramita Tripathi highlighted the importance of community participation in advancing environmental sustainability and encouraged continued efforts to create greener and healthier public spaces. She noted that initiatives of this nature not only contribute to the local environment but also promote a spirit of shared responsibility and strengthen community engagement.

The tree planting initiative also complemented the Embassy’s broader efforts under the spirit of Special Campaign 6.0, being undertaken by the Government of India to promote Swachhata, environmental sustainability, greener public spaces and community participation. The initiative reflected the campaign’s emphasis on environment-friendly practices and collective civic responsibility.

The event witnessed strong community participation, with ARMS4U and around 30 community associations joining the initiative. Meshari Abdulaziz AlDuhaim, Senior Manager, KIPCO, also attended the event. The participation of diverse community organisations underscored the importance of collective action in promoting environmental awareness, sustainability and greener public spaces.

The collaboration between the Embassy of India in Kuwait, ARMS4U and participating community associations reaffirmed their shared commitment to environmental responsibility and building a greener and more sustainable Kuwait.
