Kuwait International Airport remains closed pending full safety clearance

Kuwait International Airport continues to remain closed to commercial operations, with authorities confirming that no new decision has been issued regarding the resumption of flights.

Aviation sources indicated that operations will only resume once full safety clearance is obtained and all required airspace approvals are completed.

Ongoing technical and safety evaluations are being carried out by civil aviation teams and relevant emergency authorities, focusing on infrastructure integrity and operational readiness.

These assessments include reviews of radar systems, runway conditions, and terminal safety standards to ensure full compliance with aviation requirements.

In the meantime, flight operations involving Kuwait are being managed through alternative regional hubs, with airlines adjusting schedules and rerouting passengers via neighboring countries. Carriers continue to coordinate with regional airports to maintain travel continuity.

Authorities emphasize that the reopening of the airport depends on a series of technical and regulatory conditions, including formal airspace clearance, completion of infrastructure inspections, and restoration of full operational systems. Aviation officials have noted that normal operations will resume only after all safety criteria are fully met and officially approved.

Until then, Kuwait’s aviation sector remains under close monitoring, with updates expected once all technical assessments are finalized and regulatory approval is granted.
