KISR to organize 47th summer training course for high school, university students

Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) announced organizing its 47th summer training course for high school and university students from July 12 to August 13.
Director of KISR’s Manpower Development Department Muna Al-Failakawi said in a press statement on Wednesday that these courses embody the Amiri decree establishing the institute to encourage Kuwaiti youth to practice scientific research and foster a research spirit among the young generation.
Al-Failakawi added that organizing these courses comes within the framework of providing a purposeful educational and training environment that invests in youth energies.

She noted that the course has achieved continuous success over 46 years, contributing to improving the skills of a large number of students. This year’s course includes scientific programs alongside cultural, social, and sports activities, providing an experience that combines knowledge and practical application, she explained.
The programs cover microbiology, healthy food, chemistry and physics, robotics building, genetic engineering, sustainable construction, and aviation sciences.
Al-Failakawi indicated that admission for high school is limited to 10th and 11th-grade science section students, with a grade percentage of no less than 75 percent at the end of the first semester of the (2025-2026) academic year.
As for university students, admission requires the applicant to be from scientific colleges (second year and above), not enrolled in the summer semester, and have a minimum grade of (Very Good), she mentioned.
She praised the role of entities supporting these courses since 1976, foremost of which are Kuwait University (KU), Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Ministry of Education, and Al-Rawdatain Water Bottling Company.
Al-Failakawi called on parents to encourage their children to join the course and invest their summer vacation positively.
Registration continues until July 4, while personal interviews will take place from June 14 to July 5 at KISR’s main building in Shuwaikh area, she noted.
