KFAS: Talent program boosts innovation and develops youth skills.
The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced on Tuesday that its ICT Talent Development Program aims to enhance technological innovation and develop the skills of Kuwaiti youth and professionals in advanced fields such as; 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cloud Computing, in line with the New Kuwait 2035 vision.
The Foundation announced in a press release its plan to launch the program in cooperation with Huawei Technologies Kuwait. The goal is to bridge the gap between academic education and practical experience, providing participants with the necessary tools needed to succeed in the digital economy and enhance Kuwait’s global competitiveness in this vital field.
Furthermore, the foundation stated that the partnership with Huawei is based on a vision to build an integrated talent development system. Participants will be trained on dedicated tracks that combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications, facilitating their transition from study to the labor market, enhancing their professional opportunities, and contributing to the country’s social and economic development.
The foundation highlighted that the cooperation with Huawei, which began in 2019, has yielded many successes through initiatives such as the Seeds for the Future program and the annual ICT competition. These efforts have trained more than 100 Kuwaiti students and graduates on the latest technologies.
What’s more is that the foundation explained that the new program will build on these achievements by enhancing the capabilities of participants to meet the growing demands of the ICT sector in Kuwait.
Moreover, the program will enable university students, public and private sector employees, and aspiring entrepreneurs to acquire the skills needed to excel in the fast-paced digital landscape. It will also enhance ICT infrastructure and support a culture of innovation, which will play a key role in achieving the goals of the New Kuwait 2035 vision, focusing on sustainability and knowledge-based economic growth.
For its part, Huawei Kuwait explained that this partnership reflects its commitment to supporting digital knowledge and developing local talents. The company emphasized that openness, cooperation, and shared success are essential pillars of its vision.
Huawei Kuwait added that the program seeks to provide equal educational opportunities and enhance multidisciplinary knowledge, empowering Kuwaiti youth to lead the digital transformation in the future.
