Japan congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National & Liberation days
On the occasion of the 64th National Day of the State of Kuwait and the 34thAnniversary of its liberation, I would like to express my sincere congratulations and best wishes for the further development and prosperity of Kuwait and its people under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait.
Japan and Kuwait have enjoyed a long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship, dating back to 1961 when Japan was one of the first countries to recognize Kuwait’s independence and establish formal diplomatic ties.
Throughout the years, the two countries have stood in solidarity, particularly during times of adversity. Kuwait consistently demonstrating its unwavering support for Japan in the face of natural disasters. In turn, Japan has stood shoulder to shoulder with Kuwait, providing steadfast backing during the Gulf war for its liberation.
Since then, the two countries have steadily strengthened their friendship. Even recently, various events have been held to strengthen bilateral relations including Policy Dialogue between both Foreign Ministries, and Japan-Kuwait Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy Policy Dialogue, with the visit of officials and Japanese companies from Japan.
In the field of culture, I have met with many Kuwaitis who have expressed their love for Japanese culture, which has renewed my desire to further develop this relationship. I appreciate those Kuwaiti friends of Japan for their contribution to Japan-Kuwait friendship through various local activities.
Not to mention the great initiatives by local companies keen to introduce Japanese products to the Kuwaiti market, I would like to thank all those who have helped to develop Kuwait-Japan relations in various fields.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to reaffirm Japan’s commitment to its strong bond with Kuwait and express my deepest gratitude for the continued trust and cooperation that defines our relationship.
Finally, the Kansai-Osaka Expo will be held starting from April 13th . I hope that many Kuwaitis will visit Japan and enjoy its culture, technology, history, and nature, to become new friends of Japan.
