Indian Embassy organizes blood donation camp to mark World Blood Donor Day
More than 200 members of Kuwait’s Indian community donated blood during a large-scale humanitarian campaign organized by the Indian Embassy in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala and the Federation of Indian Doctors at Adan Hospital, marking World Blood Donor Day and reinforcing the strong people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait.

The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) and the Federation of Indian Doctors (FID), organized a blood donation camp at Adan Hospital and Blood Bank on June 12 in observance of World Blood Donor Day.
The humanitarian initiative was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Mrs. Paramita Tripathi and the Chief Guest, H.E. Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Governor of Al Ahmadi Governorate, in the presence of representatives from Adan Hospital, the Central Blood Bank, and senior members of Indian community organizations.
Marking the commencement of the event, Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah became the first blood donor, underscoring his support for the humanitarian initiative and encouraging broader community participation.
The camp witnessed an enthusiastic response from the Indian community in Kuwait, reflecting the shared commitment of India and Kuwait to public health, humanitarian service, and community welfare.
According to organizers, more than 500 individuals registered for the initiative, with over 200 successfully donating blood. Members of the Indian community from diverse backgrounds participated actively in the campaign, demonstrating solidarity, compassion, and support for Kuwait’s healthcare system.
The organizers conveyed sincere appreciation to all donors, volunteers, and supporting organizations whose efforts contributed to the success of the initiative.
World Blood Donor Day is observed annually to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to recognize the vital contribution of blood donors in saving lives. The occasion also highlights the constant need for safe blood supplies and encourages communities worldwide to support healthcare systems through regular voluntary donations.
The Embassy of India, together with Indian community organizations in Kuwait, regularly organizes blood donation drives, medical camps, plantation campaigns, and welfare-oriented initiatives.
These activities reflect the deep-rooted friendship and strong people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait while highlighting the Indian community’s continued contribution to humanitarian and social causes in Kuwait.
