IMA Kuwait conducts AI training workshop at Masjid Al Kabir

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait, under the patronage of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ Foreign Relations Department, successfully conducted an Artificial Intelligence training workshop aimed at helping participants understand and apply emerging AI technologies responsibly.
Organized through IMA Kuwait’s Human Resources Development Department (HRD), the workshop was held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Masjid Al Kabir in Kuwait. Held under the theme “Master AI for Productivity, Media & Islamic Knowledge,” the programme combined practical applications of AI with discussions on ethics, social responsibility and the importance of authentic sources in Islamic scholarship.

The workshop featured four key sessions. Mohammed Umar Falahi, President of IMA Kuwait, led a session on AI, Ethics and Society, examining artificial intelligence from an Islamic ethical perspective, including human dignity, privacy, accountability and social responsibility. Waleed Umari, General Secretary of IMA Kuwait, addressed AI for Productivity and Work Efficiency, covering generative AI, prompt engineering, research, writing, planning, summarisation and workplace applications.

The third session, AI in Media and Content Creation, was conducted by Jafar Sadik, former General Secretary of IMA Kuwait, and explored the use of AI tools for graphics, presentations, videos, audio, social media and digital communication. Saleh, NAF President, led the fourth session on Islamic Knowledge and AI, focusing on the potential use of AI in Qur’an, Hadith and Fiqh research, while stressing verification, authentic sources and the guidance of qualified Ulama.

A central message of the workshop was that AI should serve as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human responsibility, creativity or authentic Islamic scholarship. Participants were encouraged to learn, apply, create, explore and empower themselves through the responsible and ethical use of emerging technologies.

IMA Kuwait expressed its appreciation to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, resource persons, organisers, volunteers, coordinators and participants for their contributions to the programme. The workshop was organised by HRD–IMA Kuwait, with Abul Efham, South Zone Coordinator, HRD, as organiser and Dawood Absami, North Zone HR Coordinator..
