Education Ministry sets school class duration at 35 minutes during Ramadan

After the national holidays, school students in Kuwait will return to their studies from tomorrow morning, Sunday, 2nd March, following the adjusted schedule for the holy month of Ramadan.
The Kindergarten and elementary school students will begin their day at 9:40 AM, while middle school students will start at 9:20 AM. High school students will commence at 9:30 AM, with classes concluding at 2:10 PM.
In this regard, the Education Ministry has issued a bulletin outlining working hours and class schedules for schools, emphasizing strict adherence to the specified timings.
According to the circular, the intermediate and secondary stages will have 7 class periods, while the primary stage will have 6. The duration of each class across all stages is set at 35 minutes, except for the last two periods, which will be 30 minutes each.
The Ministry explained that the study schedule for middle and high school includes two breaks, the first lasting 10 minutes and the second 15 minutes, while elementary school will have two breaks, each lasting 15 minutes.
Flexible Working Hours
The bulletin clarified that flexible working hours during the holy month of Ramadan will be based on designated schedules for employees in public education schools, religious education, kindergartens, and private Arabic schools, as well as for general supervisors, senior supervisors, and technical supervisors. It emphasized adherence to the timing of the first and last periods.
Kindergarten: Flexible working hours start from 8:30 to 9:00 AM, with the workday ending from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.
Primary and Intermediate Stages & Technical Guidance: Work starts from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, ending between 1:30 to 2:00 PM.
Secondary Stage: Work starts between 9:10 to 9:40 AM, with the workday concluding from 1:40 to 2:10 PM.
