The Radiology Department at Dasman Diabetes Institute, an institution established by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Safety Star Award by the Ministry of Health.
This recognition highlights the department’s dedication to enhancing radiation safety during CT scans, reports Al-Jarida newspaper. By integrating a cutting-edge tool known as “DoseWatch,” the department has significantly improved its ability to precisely monitor and minimize radiation exposure for patients, ensuring that it remains well below the safety limits set by the Ministry of Health’s Radiation Protection Department.
Dr. Abdulmohsen bin Nakhi, the department’s director, emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Health, Dasman Diabetes Institute, and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences in achieving this remarkable accomplishment. He attributed the institute’s clinical excellence and subsequent recognition to this fruitful partnership.
Dr. bin Nakhi further emphasized the department’s commitment to providing “the best radiology services in a safe environment” for both patients and staff.
