‘Central agency’ reports status change for 10,256 residents

As many as 6,054 people changed their status to Saudi nationality and 1,188 to Iraqi nationality from 2011 through the end of August 2024.

• 868 people changed their status to Syrian nationality, 131 to Iranian nationality, and 53 to Jordanian nationality, in addition to 1,962 individuals who modified their status to other nationalities.


The Central Agency for Addressing the Status of Illegal Residents announced on Saturday that 10,256 individuals had their status adjusted to their original nationalities from 2011 through the end of August 2024, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Waib, Director of the Department of Status Modification at the agency, reported that 6,054 people changed their status to Saudi nationality and 1,188 to Iraqi nationality during this period.

He explained that 868 people changed their status to Syrian nationality, 131 to Iranian nationality, and 53 to Jordanian nationality, in addition to 1,962 individuals who modified their status to other nationalities.

He added that these statistics pertain to individuals who have documents related to their father, grandfather, or themselves and do not include those with other relatives who can prove their nationality.

Al-Waib called on those who wish to amend their status to visit the Central Authority headquarters in the East Region. He encouraged them to regularize their residence and reconcile their status in accordance with the residence laws in force in the State of Kuwait.
