Al-Ujiri Center predicts rising temperatures, dust, and possible rain as summer approaches

Following the end of Kenna, birds will begin migrating by the middle of the season, temperatures will rise further, rainy season will end, and the dry, hot conditions of summer will take over, with the weather becoming increasingly hot and dry.

Al-Ujiri Scientific Center has announced that summer is gradually approaching with the first signs marking the end of the mild spring season, known as ‘the Kenna’.

This season will begin next Tuesday, April 29, and is considered the start of summer lasting 39 consecutive days, divided into three phases — Al-Rasha or Batn Al-Hut, Al-Shartayn and Al-Batina, each lasting 13 days, according to Al-Rai daily.

The center noted that with the arrival of the rainy season, the sun’s rays will become more intense, leading to rising temperatures and noticeable weather changes. This transitional phase from spring to summer will be marked by increased heat, dust and the possibility of rain.

In the middle of this season, the Sarayat period ends, which could bring sudden rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning and occasionally hail.

Additionally, the Pleiades — a loose cluster of stars in Taurus that is easily seen by a person with average sight — will disappear from view at the beginning of the season, only to reappear on June 7, marking the end of the Kenna season.

During this period, birds will begin migrating, and by the middle of the season, temperatures will rise further. The rainy season will end, and the dry, hot conditions of summer will take over, with the weather becoming increasingly hot and dry.
