MOI arrests 36 violators of laws, wanted criminals in Riqqa security campaign

The Ministry of Interior said 36 violators and wanted persons were arrested during a field security campaign in the Riqqa area, in which 168 security personnel and 50 security patrols took part. To prevent anyone from escaping, all escape routes were manned by personnel from the Security Directorates Affairs Sector of the Farwaniya Governorate.

In a press statement, the ministry said 13 people who have been arrested had outstanding arrest warrants issued against them for staying in the country after the expiry of their residence permits, 12 who were reported absconding by their sponsors, four failing to renew residency permits, three wanted in connection with civil cases, and three wanted by law in connection with drug offenses, one arrested for possessing and selling medicines without a license, and a vehicle was seized upon request from the judiciary

The ministry said standard legal and administrative procedures were followed for all those arrested, and have been referred to the competent authorities.
