PAM takes legal action against fuel supply company over unpaid worker dues

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has taken legal measures against a fuel supply company operating in the Abdali area following a partial work stoppage by employees protesting delayed financial entitlements.
The move came after a video circulated on social media showing a number of workers suspending work, prompting immediate intervention by field teams from PAM’s Labor Affairs Sector and Labor Relations Department.
According to the authority, officials visited the company’s premises to investigate the incident, meet with workers, and assess the circumstances surrounding the stoppage. The inspection was attended by Acting Deputy Director General for Labor Affairs Fahd Mansour Al-Ajmi and Acting Director of the Labor Relations Department Ali Al-Dalmani, reports Al-Rai daily.
Initial findings revealed that the workers had not received overtime payments for more than five months. Investigators also identified violations related to the employment of workers beyond legally permitted overtime limits.
The authority stated that the work stoppage lasted approximately 30 minutes on the first day and one hour on the following day.
PAM confirmed that legal procedures have been initiated against the company in accordance with Private Sector Labor Law No. 6 of 2010 and its implementing regulations.
The authority reiterated its commitment to protecting workers’ rights and ensuring compliance with labor legislation, stressing the importance of maintaining a fair and dignified work environment.
It also urged employers and employees to resolve disputes through approved legal channels and affirmed that inspection teams will continue monitoring the labor market and responding swiftly to any labor violations or work stoppages.
PAM emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for breaches of labor laws and regulations, while ensuring the rights of all parties are safeguarded.
