Municipal Council approves numbering of residential areas across governorates
The Kuwait Municipal Council has approved the numbering of several residential and investment areas across the country as part of ongoing efforts to improve urban planning, property identification, and public services.
The decision was taken during the council’s main meeting on Monday, chaired by Vice Chairman Khaled Al-Mutairi.
Under the approved plan, the council authorized the numbering of the Fintas area in Al-Ahmadi Governorate, while the Hawalli area will now be organized into 12 officially designated plots. The council also approved the numbering of areas in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Al-Riqa’i in Al-Farwaniya Governorate.
In addition to the urban planning measures, the council approved a request from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to allocate a 625-square-meter site for a mosque in South Sabahiya. It also sanctioned the allocation of a 300-square-meter residential site in Jahra for an imam and muezzin.
The council further endorsed a request from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to allocate an 84-square-meter site in Salwa for the construction of a secondary electrical substation aimed at strengthening the area’s power infrastructure.
Another key decision included the allocation of a 2,400-square-meter site in Al-Riqa’i for a new building to house the Experts Department of the Ministry of Justice.
On security-related matters, the council approved the Ministry of Interior’s request to reallocate a 7,000-square-meter site in the Shuaiba Industrial Area for the Committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of Cabinet decisions related to security affairs.
The Municipal Council also referred to its executive body a proposal calling for the preparation of standardized municipality-approved contract templates governing private housing construction and demolition projects. The initiative aims to safeguard the rights of both property owners and contractors by establishing a unified contractual framework.
