Thrilling finale concludes 28th CBSE Kuwait cluster badminton tournament (Girls) 2026–27

The 28th CBSE Kuwait Cluster Badminton Tournament (Girls) 2026–27 concluded on a high note at Aspire Indian International School (AIIS), Kuwait, bringing together around 60 participants from leading CBSE schools across the country in a showcase of talent, discipline and sportsmanship.

The tournament, held on May 20–21, featured competition in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories. Participating schools included Indian Educational School, Indian Community School, FAIPS-DPS, Indian Learners Own Academy, Indian Public School, Indian English Academy School, Integrated Indian School, and Carmel School.

The opening ceremony began with a Quran recitation followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India, setting a respectful and unifying tone for the event. AIIS Principal Dr. Geetika Ahuja delivered the welcome address, while the “Power of Words March” and oath-taking ceremony emphasized unity, discipline, and fair play among participants.

League-cum-knockout matches commenced on the first day, with players competing fiercely for a place in the semi-finals. The second day featured high-intensity knockout rounds, where teams battled for a spot in the finals across both categories.

In the Under-19 semi-finals, FAIPS-DPS faced Indian Learners Own Academy, while Indian Educational School took on Indian Community School. In the Under-17 category, Indian Learners Own Academy competed against Indian English Academy School, and FAIPS-DPS played against Indian Community School.

The finals delivered thrilling performances, with FAIPS-DPS emerging as Under-19 champions and Indian Community School finishing as runners-up. In the Under-17 category, Indian Learners Own Academy secured the championship title, while Indian Community School claimed the runner-up position.

The tournament highlighted the growing standard of school-level badminton in Kuwait’s CBSE circuit, promoting teamwork, healthy competition, and camaraderie among students.

The event concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the Indian National Anthem, marking a successful celebration of youth sports and sporting excellence.
