Interior arrests 12 in major drug bust, seizes large quantities of narcotics

  • MOI announced 10,598 bottles of alcohol that were seized in drug-related misdemeanor cases during 2024 and 2025 were destroyed as part of its efforts to combat narcotics and intoxicants and safeguard society.

The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 12 persons of different nationalities found in possession of large and diverse quantities of narcotics, as part of ongoing security campaigns targeting lawbreakers and drug traffickers.

In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry said security forces conducted a field campaign in the camel stables area in Jahra, which also led to the discovery of a site used to sell expired food products. Legal action has been taken against those involved.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced 10,598 bottles of alcohol that were seized in drug-related misdemeanor cases during 2024 and 2025 were destroyed as part of its efforts to combat narcotics and intoxicants and safeguard society.

The destruction process was carried out in accordance with approved legal procedures, in coordination with relevant authorities.

In a separate incident, authorities apprehended an individual for illegally entering a protected nature reserve to graze camels, in violation of applicable laws and regulations. Necessary legal measures were taken against the offender.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing field campaigns to prevent violations, urging the public to comply with laws and regulations to help preserve security and protect natural resources.
