
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, stated Sunday that the UAE winning the bid to host the 2029 annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), embodies the growing international confidence in its economy and its advanced investment environment.
Al-Budaiwi praised the UAE’s high-level capabilities and extensive expertise in hosting major international economic events, which reflect the efficiency of its national economic institutions and its prestigious standing both regionally and internationally.
“The hosting of this prominent event by a GCC member state represents a qualitative addition that bolsters the economic standing of the Council states globally,” he pointed out.
He extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
Al-Budaiwi concluded his statement by affirming that this hosting is a source of pride for all GCC countries, reflecting the advanced levels of development and economic cooperation the region has achieved.
