Kuwait’s generous support for Gaza children lauded

The “Bazaar of Goodness” exemplifies the robust Kuwaiti-Palestinian relations and the steadfast support of the Kuwaiti people for the Palestinian cause.

Rami Tahboub, the Palestinian ambassador to Kuwait, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its unwavering and steadfast support for Palestine and its people.

Tahboub made his remarks before the launch of the “Bazaar of Goodness,” an international charity event to be hosted on Monday, aimed at supporting the children of the Gaza Strip. The bazaar is taking place at the Al-Barakah Hall of the Crowne Plaza Hotel from February 19 to 21.

The ambassador also extended his gratitude to the International Diplomatic Club for this crucial humanitarian initiative aimed at aiding the children of the besieged Gaza Strip, currently enduring severe Israeli aggression. He highlighted that this aggression has tragically led to the martyrdom, injury, or disappearance of over 70,000 Palestinians, predominantly children and women.

Tahboub also conveyed his deep appreciation to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society for its invaluable participation and financial oversight of the bazaar, as well as for its steadfast commitment to ensuring that the proceeds directly benefit the children of the beloved Gaza Strip.

The ambassador mentioned that the Palestinian embassy will participate in the bazaar, joining over 60 embassies accredited in the State of Kuwait and more than 40 companies from Kuwait and abroad. He noted that the embassy’s pavilion will showcase a wide range of Palestinian food, heritage, and handicraft products.

Sharing motherly love with Gaza children

“For me, it is very important to support this humanitarian initiative, especially as a mother,” said Ivetta Balmelli, the wife of the Swiss ambassador. “For us mothers, our kids are the most loved and most important persons in the world. Through this initiative, we can share our love with the children of Gaza, who need it so much!”

She described her personal contribution to the bazaar, highlighting paintings created with her 5-year-old son, as well as hand-knitted items such as socks, hats, and bags.

“Switzerland and Kuwait both share a long tradition of promoting peace and humanitarian assistance,” she continued. “As the spouse of the Swiss ambassador in Kuwait, this bazaar is an opportunity for me to demonstrate our solidarity through concrete actions.”

This personal touch adds a human dimension to the narrative of the “Bazaar of Goodness,” emphasizing the event’s impact beyond traditional fundraising efforts.
