Al-Bahar on the ‘most powerful businessmen’ list of Forbes magazine

Forbes magazine recently unveiled its prestigious annual list of “The 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Middle East,” with Shaikha Al-Bahar, Executive Vice President of the National Bank of Kuwait Group, claiming the top spot as the most influential businesswoman in Kuwait.

Al-Bahar’s outstanding achievements in the banking sector and her significant contributions to society have propelled her to the second position in the overall regional ranking for the 2024.

Forbes based its selection on various key criteria, including the women’s influence in their respective regions and markets, their accomplishments in the past year, and their initiatives in sustainability and social responsibility. The size and performance of their businesses, such as revenues, assets, market value, and employee count, were also taken into account, along with their professional experience and tenure.

In her role as Deputy CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait Group, Al-Bahar has played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s remarkable growth trajectory, particularly in the realm of sustainability. She has been instrumental in formulating policies and strategies that align with the bank’s overarching objectives, emphasizing sustainable financing and supporting global initiatives to transition towards a low-carbon economy and mitigate climate change risks.
