Al-Yousef inspects land border security, reviews new monitoring systems

The Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, conducted an inspection tour on Saturday of the General Directorate of Land Border Security, where he was received by the Head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Affairs Sector, Major General Majbel Bin Shouq, along with a number of senior security officials.
During the visit, Sheikh Fahd was briefed on the operational workflow and security measures implemented to safeguard Kuwait’s land borders.
He viewed a visual presentation outlining the development of the new border monitoring and protection system, and received a detailed explanation of its operational mechanisms, including the modern technologies and advanced systems it incorporates, reports Al-Rai daily.
Officials explained that the system is designed to enhance security readiness, improve early detection capabilities, and ensure rapid response, thereby strengthening control across all land border sectors.
The upgrades also support efforts to counter infiltration attempts and prevent the smuggling of prohibited materials, contributing to the protection of the country’s security.
As part of the tour, Sheikh Fahd visited the Bahitha Border Center, where he reviewed the center’s level of readiness and the security procedures in place. He was also briefed on field operations and the center’s role in bolstering border security and enhancing coordination and response efficiency.
Sheikh Fahd praised the performance and dedication of border security personnel, commending their vital role in protecting the homeland and preserving national security.
He stressed the importance of continuing to develop security systems, enhance human resource capabilities, and leverage modern technologies to keep pace with evolving security challenges and strengthen the country’s comprehensive security framework.
