KOC honored for innovation, sustainability, executive excellence at International Business Awards 2025

The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has won four prestigious international awards from International Business magazine for 2025, recognizing the company’s leadership in the energy sector and its commitment to safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the awards ceremony in Dubai, Mohammed Al-Abduljalil, Deputy CEO for Planning and Innovation, said he is proud of the company’s achievements.

He added the awards reflect KOC’s ongoing journey of innovation and excellence, as well as its dedication to the principles of sustainable development.

Al-Abduljalil dedicated the accolades to the State of Kuwait, its prudent leadership, and the company’s employees, whom he described as the foundation of KOC’s progress.

He emphasized that the honors align with the vision of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its 2040 strategy, strengthening KOC’s role in shaping a sustainable future for the global energy industry.

He added that the awards highlight KOC’s continued improvements in operational performance, commitment to safety and environmental protection, investment in human capital, and support for innovation and community initiatives that elevate Kuwait’s regional and international standing.

Al-Abduljalil also conveyed his pride in receiving the Best CEO in the Energy Sector Award on behalf of KOC CEO Ahmed Al-Aidan, praising his leadership and clear strategic vision in driving the company’s transformation.

Mohammed Al-Basri, Director of Public Relations and Media, stated that KOC’s recognition in categories related to environmental awareness, interactive learning, and green development underscores the company’s broader national role beyond energy production.

He highlighted several community-focused initiatives, including Ahmadi Sports Day 2025, environmental campaigns, and the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition, all of which have gained international recognition.

Al-Basri noted that these programs demonstrate KOC’s commitment to building a sustainable, environmentally conscious, and socially responsible society.

KOC extended its appreciation to International Business magazine for the recognition and reiterated its commitment to advancing initiatives that benefit humanity, the environment, and the energy sector while enhancing the company’s global presence.

Representing KOC at the awards ceremony held at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai were Executive Vice President for Planning and Innovation Mohammed Al-Abduljalil and Director of Public Relations Mohammed Al-Basri.

The awards included:

  • Best CEO 2025 – awarded to Ahmed Al-Aidan
  • Energy Education and Awareness Award 2025 – for Ahmadi Sports Day
  • Interactive Learning and Innovation Award 2025 – for the Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition
  • Community Green Development Award 2025 – for the “Plant” initiative combating desertification
