The Ministry of Interior announced personnel from the Directorate General for Drug Control have arrested six suspects across Kuwait for possessing large quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances, as part of intensified nationwide efforts to combat drug trafficking.
In a statement detailing the operation, the ministry said that precise intelligence indicated the suspects’ involvement in trafficking in drugs.
A specialized team formed to monitor and track the activities of the suspect led to the arrest of the suspects in different locations along with the contraband — 3 kilograms of crystal meth, 5.1 kilograms of marijuana, 115 grams of hashish, 6 grams of cocaine, and 6,200 assorted narcotic and psychotropic capsules.
The ministry added that the accused confessed to possessing the drugs for both trafficking and personal use. They, along with the seized materials, have been referred to the competent investigative authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to confronting the drug menace in all its forms, pursuing traffickers and promoters through continuous security operations and strict enforcement measures aimed at safeguarding society, protecting public security, and ensuring a safe environment free from substances that threaten the nation’s youth.
