MOH workshop aims to strengthen Kuwait’s e-Health Info System

Dr. Fatima Al-Asoumi, Director of the National Center for Health Information and Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, said the ministry’s latest training workshop on the International Classification and Information System aligns with the center’s strategic objective of building a reliable electronic health information system.

Such a system, she said, is essential for enhancing evidence-based health decision-making and supporting effective actions grounded in accurate, high-quality data.

The workshop, organized by the center in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), included remote participation from Gulf countries and nations across the Eastern Mediterranean region, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Asoumi noted that the program brought together WHO physicians and specialists, along with technical staff from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health.

Sessions focused on the importance of applying, classifying, and documenting all therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in a unified, standardized manner.

Al-Asoumi praised the Ministry of Health for its continued commitment to developing Kuwait’s health system.

She added that WHO participants commended Kuwait’s efforts, noting that the adoption of the International Classification of Interventions enhances the transparency of health data, facilitates international cooperation in health research, and strengthens national health planning.
