Farwaniya Municipality approves the ‘Park and Ride’ proposal
Farwaniya Committee of the Municipal Council, chaired by Khaled Al-Mutairi, approved a proposal submitted by member Eng. Alia Al-Farsi to establish a “Park & Ride” system and allocate temporary surface parking spaces in the Al-Dajeej area, south of Farwaniya.
During its meeting, the committee also referred a letter from the head of West Abdullah Al-Mubarak Health City concerning the relocation of concrete plants to Al-Shaddadiya and the construction of a pedestrian walkway in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak to the executive body for further action.
In addition, the committee returned proposals related to the establishment of surface parking areas, a waiting hall and a pedestrian bridge for students at the College of Basic Education for additional review, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The committee further referred correspondence from the Ministry of Public Works regarding the creation of a “U-turn” exit linking Road 602 to Road 6.5 to the executive authority.
Meanwhile, discussions on improving public services in Farwaniya Governorate, particularly in relation to beautification efforts and public cleanliness, remained on the agenda as part of ongoing efforts to preserve roads, streets and public squares.
