FAIPS swimmers make history at CBSE national competition

The pool lights dimmed, and the air buzzed with excitement as the CBSE National Girls Swimming Competition 2025-26 kicked off, hosted by the renowned KIT International School from September 24-27, 2025.

The event brought together over 600 elite swimmers from 235 schools worldwide, highlighting the competitive spirit thriving across the 27,000 CBSE schools globally.

Amidst this high-octane competition, two young stars from the Kuwait Cluster of CBSE schools made history. Dakshaja Dey Upareti and Elysha Nathalia D’Cunha of FAIPS (DPS) delivered a groundbreaking performance, marking the first time the Kuwait cluster had achieved such distinction at the national level.

Dakshaja, a Class 9 athlete, dominated the water with breathtaking grace and power. Her remarkable performance earned her four Gold Medals, a testament to her dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence in swimming.

Meanwhile, the versatile Elysha, a talented Class 5 swimmer, demonstrated extraordinary skill and resilience, securing one Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze Medal. Her achievements reflected both her competitive spirit and her determination to excel in every event she competed in.

The victorious swimmers and their team returned to Kuwait to a hero’s welcome. At the airport, they were warmly received by a proud delegation, including Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, Principal of FAIPS (DPS) and Chairman of the Gulf Sahodaya of CBSE Schools, and Mr. Prashant Vasudev, Convenor of the Kuwait Chapter of CBSE Schools.

Accompanying them were Ms. R. Subbulatha, FAIPS Physical Education HoD, and the beaming parents of the young champions.
On behalf of the school management, the Principal praised the swimmers for their perseverance, discipline, and extraordinary achievements. He emphasized that their success brought immense honor not only to FAIPS (DPS) but also to the entire Kuwait chapter of CBSE schools, showcasing the potential of young talent on a national platform.

This remarkable achievement underscores FAIPS’s commitment to holistic education, proving that excellence in extracurricular pursuits can shine as brightly as academic success. The performance of Dakshaja and Elysha stands as an inspiring example of dedication, talent, and the spirit of competitive sports.
