MPW launches maintenance on 26 road sites across Kuwait, including major highways
New car auction project in Amghara set to regulate used vehicle market outside residential zones

The Ministry of Public Works has begun extensive road maintenance works covering 26 sites across Kuwait from July 5 to 10. The works include repairs in 18 internal locations such as Saad Al-Abdullah, Al-Qasr, Al-Masayel, Al-Faiha, Al-Nahda, and Al-Qairawan.
Maintenance is also ongoing at eight locations on major expressways, including Abdali Road, Subbiya Road, Al-Salmi Road, and sections of the Fourth Ring Road connected to the Maghrib Expressway, reports Al-Jarida daily
These efforts are part of the ministry’s strategy to upgrade road infrastructure across the country, improve traffic flow, and enhance safety for all road users.
Meanwhile, the MPW has asked the Central Tenders Committee to schedule a negotiation session with qualified companies bidding on the Amghara Car Auction Project.
The session will help determine the final awarding of the contract to the company offering the best proposal that fulfills all technical and financial requirements, after which project implementation will begin.
According to ministry sources, the initiative forms part of the larger plan to develop the “Haraj” (used car market) project —an important effort to regulate car trading in Kuwait.
The goal is to provide a safe and well-organized environment for commercial vehicle transactions, away from densely populated residential areas.
The project includes the creation of a fully integrated infrastructure at a newly allocated site in Amghara, covering 121,600 square meters.
The scope of work involves building display and parking areas, developing internal roads, and installing sewage and rainwater drainage systems.
This new site replaces the previous location in East Amghara, following coordination with the Kuwait Municipality and other relevant agencies.
