Municipal Council approves accessibility code oversight, infrastructure proposals

In its regular session held Monday under the chairmanship of Abdullah Al-Mahri, the Municipal Council approved several key proposals, including one submitted by Council Member Engineer Farah Al-Roumi to define the authority responsible for monitoring and updating the Kuwait Accessibility Code in alignment with universal design principles.
The Council also approved a proposal by Council Member Engineer Abdul Latif Al-Da’i to temporarily allocate a pedestrian walkway in Kaifan, Block 7, according to Al-Rai daily.
Additionally, the Council endorsed multiple requests from the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy such as allocating a site for a secondary transformer station in the Kaifan area; relocating a previously approved transformer station in Adailiya, Block 2, to an alternative location and amending prior Municipal Council decisions related to the Mubarakiya suburb division project.
