Carmel School in Kuwait recently held its 2nd Annual Health Quiz

The Carmel School’s Biology Department, proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Health Quiz on October 29, 2024, with the aim of enhancing health awareness and expanding knowledge among senior students.

Dr. Anila Albert, ENT Specialist at Jaber Armed Forces Military Hospital, Kuwait, served as Quiz Master, providing expert insights and fostering an engaging learning experience.

Whereas, Sr. Saritha Monteiro A.C., the esteemed Principal of Carmel School, presided over the occasion, welcoming Dr. Anila and expressing enthusiasm for this impactful initiative.

The competition began with a preliminary written round that selected three finalist teams namely:

  1. The Healers — Melanie, Ben, and Jolene from Grade 12A.
  2. The Care Givers — Ethan from 11A, with Keerath and Jaden Matthew Fernandes from 12A.
  3. The Life Savers — Jayden Francis Fernandes from 12A, joined by Sameera and Michon from 11A.

The finalists took on six rigorous rounds: Warm-Up, Treasure Hunt, Buzzer, Betting, Audio-Visual, and Rapid Fire. Each round tested their knowledge, strategic thinking, and teamwork, creating an atmosphere of excitement and intellectual challenge.

After a close competitionThe Care Giversemerged as champions, earning medals and certificates presented by Sr. Saritha and Dr. Anila.

On the other hand The Healers were placed second, followed by The Life Savers in third. All participants received certificates, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.

The audience, consisting of students from Grades 10, 11, and 12, engaged enthusiastically, gaining insights into a variety of health and wellness topics. Head Boy Pranav concluded the event with a vote of thanks, recognizing the efforts of the organizers, participants, and the audience.

This annual health quiz reflected about Carmel School’s commitment to holistic education, by blending academic rigor with interactive learning, inspiring students to embrace a proactive approach to health and community well-being.
